A NEW STUDY OF COLLEGE ENGLISH GRAMMAR TEACHING FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF COMMUNICATIVE LANGUAGE TEACHING

Abstract

There is always a hot debate on English grammar teaching. Language researchers and teachers pay close attention to the issues, such as or not and how to teach. Communicative language teaching is dominant in college English class. Teachers usually lay too much emphasis on the meaning and influence of language expression while neglect the forms of English acquisition. It is hard to choose between focus on form and focus on meaning .With a study of need analysis, we can see that English grammar is necessary for language acquisition. The traditional grammar-translation method should be abandoned. Among the new ways of grammar teaching, data-driven teaching method is applied in teaching English grammar and is approved as an effective way.
