Abstract

According to the characteristics of uneven size distribution of specularite particles in the tailings from some iron ore concentrator, experimental studies were performed by two flowsheets respectively. Results showed that a combined process of gravity separation-magnetic separation-flotation produced an iron concentrate approaching 65. 86% Fe grade at 71. 76% recovery with a yield of 22. 26%,and another process of gravity separation-magnetic separationgravity separation led to an iron concentrate approaching 66. 13% Fe grade at 66. 16% recovery with a yield of 20.44%. This study can provide a technical reference and guidance not only for the exploitation of such kind of tailings, but also for the efficient utilization of secondary resources of this kind.
