Abstract
This paper gives a brief description of the characteristics of electromagnetic motor driving in comparison with conventional ball screw driving, and states the problem of exiting linear electromagnetic motors, introduces the operating principle of linear ultrasonic motors and the advantages of linear ultrasonic motors in comparison with linear electromagnetic motors, this paper also introduces the present development of research about linear ultrasonic motors in detail; then the paper summarizes the present research of the application of linear ultrasonic motors on machine tool's feeding system.
