Abstract

Objective To summarize the effect of hyperbaric oxygen in the treatment of carbon monoxide poisoning delayed encephalopathy. Methods Fifty-six patients with carbon monoxide poisoning delayed encephalopathy admitted to our hospital from June 2010 to November 2012 were selected as the study subject and given hyperbaric oxygen treatment. The EEG changes before and after treatment and the clinical efficacy were observed. Results 25 patients (44.64%) were cured,26 patients(46.43%) improved and 5 patients(8.93%) were invalid; The EEG findings after the treatment were significantly better than those before the treatment, with significant differences(P0.05);The efficacy was negatively related to the patient's age and duration of coma and positively correlated to the latent phase and number of times of treatment, with significant between-group differences(P0.05).Conclusion Hyperbaric oxygen therapy shows good application effect in the treatment of carbon monoxide poisoning encephalopathy, thereby worthy of promotion and application.
