Abstract
Flutter stability is one of major concerns in the design of long-span suspension bridges. Using the method of three-dimensional nonlinear flutter analysis, numerical flutter analyses of the Runyang bridge over the Yangtze River are carried out including the arrangement of bridge spans, the cable sag to main span ratio, the side span to main span ratio, the height, dead load and supporting system of the stiffening girder. Main design parameters that affect the flutter stability of long-span suspension bridges are pointed out, and the reasonable structural system of long-span suspension bridges is also discussed.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
