Abstract
Genetically modified crops(GM crops)are agricultural plants with introduced genetic traits,which not occurred naturally,instead,through genetic engineering techniques.Large scale production of GM crops brings economic benefits,but also comes with potential risks of environmental release on various natural systems.Thereinto,the impact of GM crops on soil microorganisms is one of the focus of attention.In this paper,we focused on the impacts of GM crops,such as cotton,corn,rice and other staple crops,on the population size,genus type,and community structure of soil microorganisms,in order to provide guidance for the environmental release safety studies of GM crops,so that people can understand genetically modified organisms(GMO)safety issues correctly.
