Analysis on Earthquake Monitoring Capability of Digital Seismographs at Quanzhou Seismic Station

Abstract

To know the global earthquake monitoring capabilities of digital seism ograph at QZH station,using magnitude formula of the current various simulation records and the effective values of ground noise of digital seismic site at QZH station in recent years,and combing with experience of regional seismic phase identification etc,we set the ratio of the amplitudes of the first arrival P wa ve seismic phase,the maximum amplitude of S wave and surface wave,and the ef fective values of site ground noise,and respectively calculate and analyze near earthquake monitoring capability of simulate short-period(DD-1 seismograph)re cord,teleseismic monitoring capability of the simulation middle-long period(DK-1 seismograph)record and teleseismic to very distant earthquake monitoring cap ability of the simulation long period(763 seismograph) record by the very broa dband digital seismograph at QZH station.In the range of 100 km,1 000 km,130 ° and the globe,it can monitor the earthquake of ML1.5,ML 3.7,MS6.1 and MS7, respectively.The research results have practical significance to seek and impr ove the quality of seismic observations at QZH station.
