Abstract

Pepper seedlings were sprayed by 50 mg/L chitosan solution. The main osmotic adjusting substances in leaves of pepper seedlings under different time of low temperature stress were determined. The results showed that the content of soluble sugars and proline in leaves of pepper seedlings increased, and the cytoplasmic osmotic rate decreased at the same time. The results indicate that all the changes above could reduce the injuring degree of low tempeture on pepper seedlings.
