Abstract

Entomopathogenic fungi are a large group of pathogenic fungi, and include 200 species of host insect in 24 families of 5 orders.Because of effective and environmental friend control on insect pests, the entomopathogenic fungi have been extensively studied. With the coming of post-genomic era,large-scale study of gene function is becoming a hot spot, which has laid a foundation for further clarification for the pathogenic mechanism of pathogenic fungi. So analysis methods of gene function are becoming increasingly sophisticated and diverse. The paper reviews RNA interference, gene knock-out,and bioinformatics analysis, the advantages and disadvantages of the strategies, and their application in the pathogenic fungi.
