Modal Analysis of the Logarithm Spiral Bevel Gear Assembly Based on the ANSYS

Abstract

A new type of bevel gears—logarithm spiral bevel gear,successfully makes the logarithmic spiral applied to the tooth to the line of logarithm spiral bevel gear,which can achieve helix angle of engagement.This new type of spiral bevel gear drive can effectively solve the problems of drive of not being smooth,the low transmission efficiency,the serious friction wear due to the unequal spiral angle.The prestressed modal analysis of spiral bevel gear assembly is carried on by using ANSYS software,and the new method is more in line with the actual working condition of the logarithm of spiral bevel gears—high-speed,heavy duty than traditional linear modal analysis of a single gear.By solving the gear system in two critical state of low order natural frequency and the main vibration mode,in turn,it can determine the frequency range of the gear system,which can provide a strong basis for the gear structural design to avoid resonance,and also can lay the foundation for other dynamics study of the gear,and optimize the design of the gear.
