The Tendency of “Undergraduatizing” in China′s Postgraduate Education and Its Countermeasures

Despite a grave concern over the fast rate of expansion of China′s college education,the public tends to overlook the fact that postgraduate education has expanded much faster than undergraduate education.In the wake of increased postgraduate enrollment,some universities have a blurred boundary between undergraduate and postgraduate education and have a tendency ofundergraduatizingin their postgraduate programs.On the basis of defining the difference between undergraduate and postgraduate education,this paper presents some countermeasures to prevent or mitigate the undergraduatizing tendency in postgraduate education.
