An Add Examination on the Date of the Wooden Slips in Luolan

The discovery of ancient Loulan(楼兰) City is the most important event in the history of archeology in Asia.In this area,500 wooden slips in Chinese were excavated,which indicates the beginning of large-scale excavation of bamboo slips in the 20th century in China.Based on the notes made by Henri Maspero(马伯乐,1883-1945),Zhang Feng(张凤,1887-1966)and August Conrady(孔好古) in A Collection of Chinese Wooden Slips and Papers Archives in Loulan(1999),this paper examines the time of 4 wooden slips with month record,and other 8 slips with year record.Huang Wenbi(黄文弼,1893-1966)holds that No.26 wooden slip might possibly be made in the first year of Yang Shuo(阳朔元年,24 B.C.),but the author thinks this proposal may not be correct.
