Abstract
Widening bandwidth of the Tonpilz transducer is studied. The proper elastic material adhered to the radiation end which can form the matching layer, the bandwidth is widened by adjusting state of multi-resonance.The impedance characteristic of matching layer and mechanism of band-widening are analyzed by using finite element method. Two kinds of matching layer materials are considered, and the emission characteristic are analyzed by using the finite element model. The result shows that the bandwidth can be expanded by the matching layer. When the thickness of Polystyrene matching layer is 6mm,conductance bandwidth can be widened from 7kHz to 20.4kHz,and-3dB bandwidth will reach 11.8kHz.
