Abstract
Development of Chinese present popular culture are inevitability of history.The meaning of popular culture bears the negative aspects as well as the positive ones.Nowadays,popular culture,mainstream culture and elite culture together have made up of the backbone culture of present Chinese society.It is held that dualism of popular culture and the relationship between popular culture and mainstream culture,elite culture should be viewed with dialectic insight,which is in favor of wholesome development of popular culture and Chinese contemporary culture.
