PDM Application in Product Development

Abstract

This paper describes PDM application in the product development, shows the relation between PDM and the product development and explains the key technology, existing problems and how to solve them. The aim is to make PDM play an important role in the product development, we adopt several steps to implement, including PDM implementation under control by the high rank leaders, active participation of IT and design technicians and examination by the experts. The facts proved that adopting these steps to implement can find out and solve the existing problems, therefore improving efficiency of product development and design and shortening the launch time is accomplished
