Abstract

In order to analyze the effect of bridge construction on river hydrological regime, this paper adopts a 2D mathematical model to simulate the water level and flow distribution changes under the five-year design flood event before and after construction of the bridge.Taking the Xiaolongmen bridge project for an example, the results show that the construction of bridge would lead to certain backwater and flow field variation but the impact is mainly near the piers partly.
