Abstract
The selection of concept design is a very important part in the whole procedure of the bridge design.A great influence can be imposed on all the stages of the project including the construction, operation and maintenance.Taking the Zhongyunhe bridge as an example,it is presented how to carry out the bridge concept design based on the river characteristic, shipping qualification, traffic composition and so on.With the basis of the entire life cycle cost analysis, comparisons and selections are carried out in this paper from the aspects of function, construction, cost, maintenance, aesthetics, and so on.The applicability of continuous bridge and tied-arch bridge are discussed under different conditions.
