Abstract

Analysed soil moisture data of Ewenke Animal-meteorological Experiment Station from 1988 to 2007.The results showed that the soil moisture content of 0 ~ 50 cm declined year by year in the rate of 0.2667%·a-1, soil drought degree increased. The average relative humidity of every soil layer was spring autumnsummer. From analysis of the characteristics of seasonal distribution of drought, we could know that spring was the best season of drought, soil layer average relative humidity is less than 50%, each grade of drought occurrence frequency is higher, the soil moisture status improved in summer and autumn ,but each grade of drought occurrence frequency is still high. The grasslands in Hulunbeier continuous drought in spring, summer, autumn and three quarter reflects significantly the climate characteristics of semi- drought grasslands.
