Abstract
A new towing tank and its design concept and method are introduced.The relationships between main scale of the tank and the trailer velocity,trailer acceleration,trailer deceleration are elaborated.The notes on determining the tank length,width and the depth are proposed.And the operating conditions of the trailer in some speed range are analyzed.Five repeated tests verify that the trailer system is stability.And the reproducibility of data is good.Comparative tests are carried out with other two tanks about ship model experiment in the same conditions.The experimental data are in good agreement.
