Analysis and Suggestions of the Problems in Villagers' Self-government: Perspective of Interests

The villagers'self-government is a basic political system in China.There have been lots of problems in democratic elections,democratic decision-making,democratic administration and democratic supervision though it has perfected constantly since its implementation and effectively promoted the development of grass-roots democracy.Theoretical and realistic analysis on causes could be done from the perspective of interests.According to principal-agent theory,when the system is not perfected the agents will get too wrapped up in seeking their own benefit maximization.The realistic causes mainly are the lack of active leadership and supports,the villagers'weak sense of rights,the strong clan mentality and the lack of supervisions.The measures for the problems caused by interests that could be taken are strengthening system construction,improving the right consciousness,strengthening leadership and supervision etc.
