Abstract
Objective To investigate the epidemiologic characteristic of the non-fatal occupational injuries in metal manufacturing industry, and provide scientific basis for its prevention and control. Methods Random cluster sampling was used to select 7 factories and 2 487 workers.Information was collected through questionnaires survey to analysie the feature and influential factors of occupational injuries. Results The morbidity rate of non-fatal occupational injuries was 15.08%.The top 3 injuries were machine injury(16.08%),object blow injury(13.60%) and heat or fire scald(11.47%).The finger or the toe was the major body part injured(78.16%).It was showed by the unconditional logistic regression analysis that the higher N score in personality scale, the younger age,the lower education level, the lower skill grade and the earnings calculated by piece or by time were the risk factors of occupational injuries incidence. Conclusion The occupational injuries became an important public health problem, and it was necessary for the whole society to pay much attention on its prevention and control.
