Abstract
To decrease the formaldehyde emission in plywood, the authors selected two formaldehyde scavengers H300 and H800, to modify the urea-formaldehyde resin for plywood. Results showed that after modification, the curing time of the UF resin was prolonged. Under a certain (condition), the modified resin not only had the desired bond strength, but also made formaldehyde (emission) within E1 or E2 level in accordance with the Chinese National Standards GB/T 17657-1999.
