Abstract
Denitrification characteristics of an aerobic denitrifier,Pseudomonas putida strain A1 were studied under aerobic conditions.Results showed that the denitrifying rates of A1 strain were 94.84% under aerobic condition for 24h.C/N ratio greatly affected the capacity of aerobic nitrification of strain A1,and nearly complete denitrification could be obtained with C/ N ratio above 5,which showed a higher tolerance to DO than other aerobic denitrifiers reported previously.Strain A1 can corespire by using nitrate or nitrite and oxygen as electron acceptor,and nitrite respiration was easier than nitrate respiration, both of which achieved high nitrogen removal rate.Nitrogen removal rate by using succinate,glucose and acetate was significantly higher than that by ethanol.
