The author analyzes the cause of the bumping at bridge-head in the highway,points out that the soft foundation treatment after the abutment is the important measure to prevent and control the bumping at bridge-head,introduces the methods to treat the uneven settlement of the abutment and the embankment,describes the construction technology and design of the abutment embankment,to solve the problem of the bumping at bridge-head.
