Abstract
After the Islamic Revolution in 1979 Iran changed into a religious country with the unification of religion and politics from a pro-western country, which produced a significant influence on the process of Iran's political modernization. The domination of the Faqih in Iran's politics provided the basis for the futuristic reform, which was also the resource of Iran's domestic discourses. However, the Constitutional Amendment in 1989 presented the legitimacy for the following political reform. From Rafsanjiani and Khatami to Nejiad, the political struggle between the reformists and the conservatives to some extent embodied the competition between politics and religion. How to seek for the balance between religion and politics will be the most significant task for Iran's political modernization.
