Abstract
The process of HPV-DNA testing getting into the field of cervical cancer screening as well as the development of its application in this field and its prospects are reviewed in this paper.HPV testing can be used to screen patients with ASCUS cervical cytology results to determine the need for referral to colposcopy.Besides,it can also be used adjunctively with cervical cytology to screen women 30 years and older to assess the presence or absence of high-risk HPV types.HPV genotyping test is suitable for patients with ASCUS results. In the future, the pattern of cervical cancer screening may be transformed into HPV genotyping as primary screening followed by cervical cytology.
