Abstract

Different views of the source area and origin1 types of turbidite sand-bodies in the Third Member of Shahejie Fm.(Es_3) in the central Dongying Depression have existed for many years. The authors think that the eastern and southern source area were contributing together in the sedimentary period of Es_3 after synthetically geological research in the great scope. The southern source area central depression belt and formed 5 sets of sequence of far-shore turbidite fan system on gentle slope. The eastern source area only affected partial region of Dongying delta and formed some small delta-slumping turbidite sandbodies. It was pointed out that the lower part of Es_3 has the probability for find large-scale lithological reservoir.Geological research realed that the sedimentary framework of the southern and eastern provenaces plays important role in the sedimentation of Es_3.
