The Feasibility of Combination of Socialist Public Ownership with Market Economy as Refutation of the Main Standpoints on Trends of Thought in Privatization of Our Country

The development of human society necessarily demands for market economy. It will determine the final trend of our country's economic system reform whether socialist public ownership can combine with market economy or not. We must clarify various confused ideas in peeple's mind, especially the idea of the tendency of privatization. China's emphasis is placed on holding firmly to market economy with public ownership as main body is never merely a political declaration, but has its deepgoing economic roots. This paper, proceeding from the general demand of market economy, analyses various types of public ownership and their characteristics and comes to the conclusion that it is not only possible but able to be well done that public ownership combine with market economy. Meanwhile, the main standpoints on the trends of thought in privatization are refuted in this paper.
