Abstract

The combined process of powdered activated carbon(PAC) and hollow fiber ultrafiltration membrane(HFUM) was applied for treatment of tiny pollution water and the effect of dosage of powdered activated carbon on operation performance of HFUM was studied. The removal efficiencies of COD,NH3-N and Fe in the combined process were investigated. The results showed that stable operation time of HFUM was lengthened and the lowering rate of the flux was lowered when PAC dosage increased. The addition of PAC has no obvious effect on resistance of membrane filtration. The experiments of HFUM of tiny pollution water with PAC combination were evaluated. When the PAC dosage is certain, the concentrations of COD,NH3-N、turbidity and Fe in outlet water were under that of water for Quality standard of Surface water(GB3838-2002),and the suspended substance(SS) and coli group number have not been detected.
