Abstract

Zhang Jiu-ling,Tang Dynasty's famous premier from Guangdong,was a legendary figure.He was of eminent lit- erary talent and exceptional insight.He was incorruptible and had the courage to remonstrate at court without reserve;as a man of keen discernment,he could distinguish between loyalty and treachery.ZHANG Jiu-ling' fate was closely related to the fortunes of the great Tang dynasty.His dismissal signaled the beginning of Emperor Xuanzong's fatuity and the decline of the great Tang Empire.
