Construction Scheme for a Long Span and Wide Deck Cable-Stayed Bridge over Deep Water

Abstract

The Lushan Bridge totals 1 502 m in length and its main bridge is a double-pylon and single-cable-plane prestressed concrete cable-stayed bridge with span arrangement(118+256+118) m and deck width 33 m.In the light of the characteristics that the water at the location of the Bridge is deep,the span of the Bridge is long and the deck is wide and on the basis of the comparison of different constructions schemes,it is determined that the final construction scheme that should be adopted for the Bridge is as follows: the large diameter bored pile foundations are to be constructed on the trestle and on the platforms supported on the steel pipe piles and steel casings in water;the massive concrete circular pile caps are to be constructed by the steel boxed cofferdams,the twin-leg thin-walled piers are to be constructed by the turnover formwork,the single column pylons are to be constructed by the climbing formwork and the wide-flange and inversely trapezoid 5-cell single box main girder is to be cantileveredly cast in situ by the rear-anchored diamond-shape form travelers.Practice proves that the adopted construction scheme is appropriate and can meet the quality and construction time schedule requirements.
