Surgery Treatment of Traumatic Rupture of Diaphragm

Objective To summarize diagnosis and treatment of traumatic rupture of diaphragm.Methods Traumatic ruptures of diaphragm patients between two hospitals were analyzed and reviewed in recent 15 years.Characteristics and reasons of misdiagnosis of diaphragmatic hernia were summed up.Thoracotomy was performed in 45 cases,abdominal section was underwent in 39 cases,and 12 underwent abdominal thoracic incision.Results 88 cases were cured,8 cases were died,and death rate is 8%.Conclusion It should watch out as for edge toll wound causing ruptures of diaphragm many places split possibility.Early diagnoses,the appropriate operative approach and the careful intraoperative exploration are the keys to decrease morbidity.
