Abstract
Yanglong grassland, located in the west of Qilian County in Haibei State,is a typical alpine dry climatic region. The grassland has a production mode of pureanimal husbandry, but its degradation has become a very severe problem in recentyears. On a basis of data analysis,we found that overgrazing, misuse of grasslandand thus resulted the degradation of biodiversity were the main reasons for the degradation of the grassland. Also, global climate change and wind erosion areworsening the quality of the grassland, making it even desertification. The discovery of the reasons can help to understand the status of the grassland and provide reference information for protecting grassland ecosystems.
