Abstract
It has been the focus of attention that the observation accuracy of total-station instrument without prism used in deformation monitoring of large hydropower project. This paper applies three measurement modes of GPS,with and without prism to the deformation monitoring of a landslide of Laxiwa hydropower project on the Yellow River. And then it makes comparative analysis in terms of the observation results of the plane and vertical displacement. The results show that three observation results have good consistency. So,the total-station instrument without prism Leica TS30 can be used in deformation monitoring instead, because of its high observation accuracy and measurement reliability, high efficiency and low risk.
