Abstract
The current research status on genetic diversity of wild forage germplasm resources in China was discussed.Three research approaches on genetic diversity of forage germplasm were indicated from morphological characteristic, cytological level, biochemical level to DNA level.Among these methods, molecular level is more strengthened to be used to genetic diversity research nowadays, especially allozyme analysis and DNA polymorphism analysis provide researchers with more efficient tools to study genetic diversity on higher leves.Increased research on wild forage germplasm resources was pointed out to enrich the forage germplasm resources and to provide important original germplasm material.
