The Influence of Japanese Aggression Against China on the Middle-of-the-roader

The rumbling cannons of the Japanese imperialists awoke the multitudinous middle-of-the-roader, making them change their political standpoint of always attaching themselves to the Chiang Kai-shek group. Thereafter, they actively participated in the anti-Japanese aggression movement. They set up all kinds of organizations and congregated the anti-Japanese forces; they lashed out at Chiang's wrong policies, tried every means to stop the civil war in order to resist foreign aggression; they first proposed to maintain co-operation between Kuomintang and the Chinese communist party and to actively resist the Japanese aggressors; they actively founded new publications to spread the idea of resisting the Japanese aggressors; they rush-transported materials in the battle theatre, and spared least effort to develop the economy of the rear area; they went to the front and fought bravely in the battles. With all these, they made great contributions to national independence and emancipation as well as the final triumph over the Japanese aggressors.
