Reconsideration of “the Book of Songs,Songs of Bin(豳风),July” from the Perspective of the Ecological Environment

The research with the vision of the ecological environment on theSongs of Bin(豳风),Julyshows that the weather conditions in the late of pre-Zhou Dynasty had a cooling trend compared with the Xia-Dynasty,but the overall temperature was higher than now,and Bin(豳) region had more superior ecological environment than today.There had been fluctuations in the temperature at the early of Western Zhou Dynasty and the overall temperatures changed warmer not late than Mu(穆王) period.With the researching of the ecological conditions of the late of pre-Zhou Dynasty and comparing with Xia Xiao Zheng(Lesser Annuary of the Xia Dynasty),we find thatSongs of Bin(豳风),Julyinitially was produced in the Bin of preZhou Dynasty as an agricultural song at the first,and theSongs of Bin(豳风),Julyused the same calendar as that in Xia Xiao Zheng.As a New Year's blessing song,Songs of Bin(豳风),Julywas collected in theBook of Songsin the Mu period after long oral transmission.TheSongs of Bin(豳风),Julyhad been modified when it was collected in the Books of Songs.
