Abstract
Objective To monitor the quality of drinking water in rural areas of a certain city in 2004-2005.Methods One hundred of representative water supply sources chosen were monitored and evaluated in 10 counties.Results The qualification rate of source water samples in wet period and in dry period was 13.0%-15.0% and 30.0%-48.0%,respectively.That of produced water samples was 32.5%-46.0% and 36.4%-45.0%.That of terminal tap water samples was 10.0%-41.7% and 38.9%-45.0%.The bacterial and organism pollution was quite serious.Conclusion The rural areas we chose are lacking for effectual decontamination methods for drinking water.Government should pay more attention to the harmful ingredient of drinking water in rural areas and dedicate more financing and energy to the improvement of contaminated water.
