Abstract
The dynamics of Yellow Sea anchovy (Engraulis japonicus) was analyzed by Tuning VPA based on more than 10 y's acoustic estimation of anchovy biomass(1986~1996). The results show that the amount of anchovy resource in the Yellow Sea has declined to the lowest level since 1986.So,a procedure of managing anchovy stock by quota system was put forward and the 2001 total allowable catch (TAC) of less than 10 000 t at F 0.1 were recommended.
