Abstract
Chronic airway inflammation is the nature of bronchial asthma.Search simple and feasible marker to monitor airway inflammation of asthma has become a warm research subject now.Exhaled nitric oxide can reflect the airway inflammation, which complements lung function test and measurement of airway hyper-reactivity.Exhaled nitric oxide provides a practical means to aid in the diagnosis of bronchial asthma and is helpful in predicting exacerbations, and predicting successful steroid reduction or withdrawal. The measurement of the fractional concentration of exhaled nitric oxide is a convenient, noninvasive practice with good repeatability and other characteristics for airway inflammation. It increases the detection means of bronchial asthma, and it is significant for diagnosis and treatment of bronchial asthma.
