Abstract

The protein that HERG gene encodes is very important in cardiac repolarization, and HERG gene mutation will lead to inherited long QT syndrome. Acquired long QT syndrome is also associated with the HERG gene. As molecular genetic research proceeds, the molecular mechanism whereby HERG gene mutation causes long QT syndrome is being gradually revealed.
