Abstract
Objective To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of gatofloxacin and levofloxacin injections in the treatment of lower respiratory tract infections in order to provide rational use of the drugs and to reduce the treatment cost. Methods Pharmacoeconomic cost-effectoveness analysis of gatifloxacin and levofloxacin in the treatment of lower respiratory tract infections was made. Results There was no obvious difference between the uses of the two drugs in terms of the clinical effective rate, the curative rate and the bacterial clearance rate in the treatment of the lower respiratory tract infections, but the cost-effectiveness ratio of levofloxacin was superior to that of gatifloxacin. Conclusion The use of levoflxacin can produce better cost-effectiveness ratio in the treatment lower respiratory tract infections than the use of gatifloxacin.
