Abstract

The experiments of catalytic hydrolysis of hemicellulose from rice straw by dilute sulfuric acid were conducted. The influences of ratio of solid to liquid, dilute sulfuric acid mass fraction, reaction temperature, reaction time on hydrolysis of hemicellulose were discussed. With the total reducing sugar production as criteria, the orthogonal test and the intuitionistic analysis and variance analysis of the experimental results were used to investigate the optimum reaction conditions of catalytic hydrolysis of hemicellulose. The results showed that the optimum reaction conditions of catalytic hydrolysis of hemicellulose from rice straw by dilute sulfuric acid were as follows: ratio of solid to liquid(W/V) 1∶10,dilute sulfuric acid mass fraction 25%,reaction temperature 95℃,reaction time 3 h.The optimum reaction conditions of catalytic hydrolysis of hemicellulose from rice straw were verified by the results of the experiment, with the total reducing sugar production of 2.704 g obtained from hydrolysis of 10 g rice straw powder and the total reducing sugar yield of 94.9%.
