The Variation of HS-CRP,IL-6,TNF-α Levels in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients with Diabetic Nephropathy

Objective To investigate the levels of serum high sensitivity C-reactive protein (HS-CRP),IL-6 and TNF-α in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with diabetic nephropathy.Methods Fifty-four normal subjects and 141 patients with type 2 diabetes were included in the study and the patients were further divided into three groups:of the eualbuminurics,microalbuminurics,and macroalbuminurics.The serum concentrations of HS-CRP,IL-6 and TNF-αand their correlation with proteinuria was analyzed.Results The levels of serum HS-CRP in the controls,eubuminurics,microalbuminurics and macroalbuminurics were (1.23±0.36)mg/L,(2.74±1.75)mg/L,(5.65±1.81)mg/L and (10.28±2.82)mg/L respectively.The levels of serum IL-6 in the controls,eubuminurics,microalbuminurics and macroalbuminurics were (0.93±0.33)ng/L,(6.32±1.48)ng/L,(6.91±1.39)ng/L and (10.87±3.74)ng/L respectively.The levels of serum TNF-αin the controls,eualbuminurics,microalbuminurics and macroalbuminurics were (5.30±1.43)ng/L,(18.62±6.23)ng/L,(25.31±4.56)ng/L and (35.00±4.64)ng/L respectively.The levels of serum HS-CRP、IL-6、TNF-αwere significantly higher in the patients with microalbuminuria and macroalbuminuria than those of patients with eu-albuminuria (P0.05).Conclusion HS-CRP,IL-6,TNF-αare significantly associated with abnormal albuminuria in type 2 diabetes mellitus.The serum levels of HS-CRP,IL-6,TNF-α might be involved in the development of kidney damage.
