Abstract

In allusion to the problems by iron ores degradation, characteristics of iron ore de-terioration was analyzed by comparing three kinds of iron ores that are largely imported in China in different periods. Then assimilation test was carried out with the micro sintering method and the influences of silica, alumina and LOI content were discussed, finally technical directions that respond to chemical composition deterioration of iron ores were proposed based on the results. With deterioration of iron ores by silica or alumina increment, the fusing temperature of sintering liquids dropped accordingly, the lowest assimilated temperature also dropped, the difference between Brazilian hematite and other ores decreased, which increased the difficulty in complementary ore matching. To solve this problem, flux structure optimization and deep bed sintering should be carried out on the basis of the technology of iron ore proportioning optimization.
