Abstract
Adipose tissue has been identified as another source of mesenchymal stem cells(MSC),which are called adipose-derived stem cells(ADSCs).Much like MSC derived from bone marrow,ADSCs are also capable of differentiating into various cell types. Moreover,ADSCs have the advantages of easy separation, minimal invasion and harvest of large number of cells. This makes human ADSCs(hADSCs)an attractive source for tissue-engineering.This review aims at discussing the advances in research on ADSCs′ multipotency and their application in tissue engineering.
