Abstract
Objective To evaluate the disinfection properties of a compound sodium hypochlorite disinfection solution sampled from the market. Methods Suspension quantitative germicidal test and physicochemical test methods were used to observe the disinfection-related properties of the disinfection solution sold in market. Results The stock solution of the disinfection solution containing available chlorine 1000 mg/L with a 3 min contact time killed 99.99% in average of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli in suspension and the stock solution with a 5 min contact time killed 100% in average of these bacteria. After storing at 54℃ for 14 d,the efficacy of the compound sodium hypochlorite disinfection solution with a 3 min contact time in killing E.coli decreased from killing 99.99% in average before storage to 99.96% after storage.Immersion in the stock solution of the compound sodium hypochlorite disinfection solution for 72 h caused slight corrosion of carbon steel and aluminum and essentially did not cause corrosion of copper and stainless steel. Conclusions The compound sodium hypochlorite disinfection solution sold in market could effectively kill two vegetative forms of bacteria at the indicated dosage. Its stability decreased slightly after storage.
