Abstract
Cu2ZnSnS4(CZTS)solar cell is a novel,low-cost and environment-friendly solar cell with great potential. In this paper,μc-3C-SiC as the buffer layer of the CZTS solar cells has been investigated by numerical simulations. It is found that the blue light response of the CZTS solar cell is significantly improved and the cell efficiency can be increased for the use of μc-3C-SiC buffer.μc-3C-SiC is also non-toxic.It can passivate the CZTS interface and intrinsic-ZnO can be free by adding a thick μc-3C-SiC buffer layer. These properties make μc-3C-SiC very promising for the buffer layer of the CZTS solar cells.
