Abstract
Because the number of lorries is on the rise and the damages of bridges are increasingly serious,it is important to ensure the safety of highway bridges.This paper compares the code requirements in designing highway bridges in China and America in terms of design load and structural resistance.It is hope to provide references in the design of highway bridges in China.
