The clinical research of autogenous iliac bone graft and bone marrow transplantation combined with traditional Chinese medicine in treatment of nonunion of the tibia

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of using autologous iliac bone graft and bone marrow transplantation combined with traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of nonunion of the tibia Methods 21 patients from 2010 January to 2011 January with tibial nonunion in our department were treating by autologous iliac bone graft and bone marrow transplantation,and replacement of internal fixation,after operation,all the patients were given the Self-made prescription.The clinical healing rate and time were observed.Results In 21 patients including 19 cases were healed eventually,2 cases occurred not healing again,the healing rate was 90.5%,and the average healing time of 5.9 months.Conclusion The method of autogenous iliac bone graft and bone marrow transplantation combined with traditional Chinese medicine in treatment of nonunion of the tibia can obtain ideal curative effect,is a conservative treatment which worth to be promoted.
